15-minute installation: an honest step-by-step.

”15-minute install” sounds like a sales promise. Here’s what actually happens from the moment the box arrives until the first piece shows up on screen. No technician, no construction, no new cables. And no stretching the timeline.

01 · What ships in the box

Three things and a cable.

The SONORO Player box ships with the bare minimum. No extra accessories, no 40-page manuals, no warranty cards to register online. The unit is smaller than a phone and weighs less than a full wallet.

Inside you’ll find the player itself, a short HDMI cable, a standard 2-amp charger, and a card with your account activation code. That’s it. If you’re the kind of person who opens a box and finds 8 things you don’t know what to do with, you’ll have extra space here.

The complexity isn’t in the hardware. Providers who show up with toolkits and drills are selling the feeling of complexity, not solving it.
02 · The real step-by-step

5 steps, 15 minutes, zero tools.

  1. Step 01

Plug the player into the TV’s HDMI.

Any free HDMI input works. If the TV has 3, use whichever is easiest for the cable. Doesn’t matter if it’s HDMI 1, 2, or 3. Under a minute.

  2. Step 02

Plug the charger into a power outlet.

An outlet near the TV. If there isn’t one available, any extension cord works. No weird voltage requirements, no industrial protection, no required UPS. Another minute.

  3. Step 03

Switch the TV input to the right HDMI.

With the TV remote, source or input button, select the HDMI you plugged the player into. A pairing code appears on the screen. 2 minutes including hunting down the remote.

  4. Step 04

Link the unit to your WiFi from your phone.

Open the SONORO panel on your phone, type the code that appeared on screen, pick your WiFi network and type the password. The player connects itself. 3 to 5 minutes depending on how fast the network is.

  5. Step 05

Upload the first piece and start playing.

From your phone, upload the first image or video, assign it to the screen, and it shows up immediately. From here on every change happens from the same panel, on the same phone, any time. 5 minutes the first time, 30 seconds after that.

Adding up the 5 steps: between 12 and 15 minutes the first time, including hunting down the TV remote and grabbing a glass of water. Later installs at the same venue or other locations drop below 10.

03 · What you won’t need

Things the industry takes for granted that don’t apply here.

  1. Certified technician.

Not needed. If you can plug a cable box into the TV, you can do this. Providers who require a technician are charging you to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.

  2. New network cabling.

The player runs on WiFi. No need to run ethernet from the rack, no need to install cable raceway, no need to call the electrician. If you have WiFi that reaches the TV, you have what you need.

  3. Special desktop software.

Everything runs from the browser or your phone. No desktop installer, no per-device licenses, no calling support to “generate the file”. The panel lives in the cloud.

  4. Construction or furniture modifications.

The player sits behind the TV hanging from the HDMI cable, or resting on the shelf. No wall to open, no niche to build, no carpenter to call.

04 · If something fails

The 3 spots where friction can happen.

The install rarely fails, but when it does it’s almost always for one of 3 reasons. None require a technician, all get solved in 5 minutes if you know what to check.

First, the TV on the wrong HDMI. Fix: switch inputs until you see the pairing code. Second, WiFi with the password mistyped. Fix: retry from your phone, slowly. Third, an old TV that doesn’t recognize the player’s digital signal. Fix: reboot the TV once and reselect the HDMI.

If none of that works, a 3-minute call with support solves the rest. There’s no case where someone has to physically come to your venue to “check the equipment”. Everything happening on the screen is visible from the remote panel.
