The portfolio they see while waiting for their turn.
The customer waiting in your barbershop stares at their phone for 15 minutes. They could be looking at what you want them to decide to order when their turn comes up. The TV hanging above the mirror can handle that, without changing the TV or hiring a designer.
The customer decides what to order before sitting in the chair.
In a barbershop or spa, most decisions aren’t made during the service. They’re made in the waiting area, in the 10 or 15 minutes beforehand, while the customer talks themselves into whether — beyond the haircut — they’ll also ask for a beard trim, color, mask, wax. By the time their turn comes, the decision is already made. Selling in the moment is pushing. Selling before is suggesting.
That’s the job the TV you already have hanging can do. Show the full portfolio, recent work, services on offer, and the price of each one, all while the customer kills time. A barbershop that uses that wait raises its average ticket without needing a sales pitch when the customer is already in the chair.
In the waiting area the customer is still open to suggestion. In the chair they’ve already decided. All the upsell happens before the chair.
Five pieces that raise average ticket without a single word.
Gallery of recent work.
Photos of cuts, colors, treatments done at the shop, with client permission. Social proof is the strongest trigger in this business: the customer sees what other people already got and asks for something similar.
Service list with visible pricing.
Cuts, beard, color, masks, wax, treatments. Clear prices, sorted by category. Removes the friction of the customer who wants to ask what something costs and doesn’t want to look like they’re counting every dollar.
Second-visit or combo promo.
Discount for booking the next appointment before leaving, cut-plus-beard combo at a special price, monthly plan. The screen loops it, the barber just confirms when the customer asks.
Retail products in the shop.
Pomade, oil, wax, shampoo. If you sell products at the shop, the screen can show what they are, how to use them, and how much they cost. Most barbershops have products that sell poorly because of communication, not lack of interest.
Shop’s live social media with testimonials.
Latest stories, Google reviews, short customer videos. Reinforces that the shop is alive, has a community, and that people who came already came back. Trust builds up without having to talk about it.
Three things that ruin the effect in this kind of shop.
- Mistake 01
Playing video with full-volume sound.
The barbershop is a conversation space. The barber talks with the customer, there’s ambient music, there’s clipper noise. Adding TV audio competes with everything else. Content has to work with the sound off.
- Mistake 02
Showing generic stock photos.
Photos of anonymous barbers in agency poses. The customer knows when something is stock. They’d rather see a real cut done in that chair, even if the lighting is a phone camera.
- Mistake 03
Never updating the content.
The first time the customer notices. By the fifth it’s invisible. The screen works when it feels alive. Minimum update is weekly, even if it’s just adding a new photo of Saturday’s cut.
No agency, no designer, no changing the TV.
You already have the starter material: photos of cuts you’ve posted on Instagram, prices you quote every week, promos you already run. Upload that to the SONORO panel, program a 15-second rotation per piece, and the screen kicks on that same afternoon. Improving the content happens as you go.
Install takes 15 minutes: HDMI to TV, power cable, shop WiFi, first image from your phone. No construction, no technician, no annual contract. If you’re a barbershop with 2 locations, the same panel handles both and you can show different content at each or the same institutional material across both.
